学生-centered learning is essential to 劳伦斯 学院’s academic program. Our faculty teach students how to think, not what to think; throughout the year, they’re assessing students’ interests 和 needs, 和 adapting to them.
劳伦斯 学院 provides approximately 400 students in grades 9 to 12 with a college-preparatory curriculum that ensures individual attention 和 fosters personal growth. Established in 1793, LA enjoys its heritage as one of the oldest independent schools in the country while embracing a contemporary student-centered approach that supports its mission.
劳伦斯 学院 is situated on a 140-acre campus in the center of 格罗顿, 麻萨诸塞州, just 45 minutes from Boston.
While many students will not officially meet with their college counselor until junior year, most of us already know them as teachers, 教练, 宿舍的父母, 和顾问. The fact that our counselors are more than just college experts is extremely helpful when working on a list of prospective colleges.
校友 Council members Lindsay Howard ’00 和 Clare Noone ’14 will serve as the moderators of 劳伦斯 学院 Winter Career Panel: Careers in Law.
Advisory groups are much more than a required daily check-in: they’re close-knit units where students should gain confidence 和 inspiration, 和 feel safe to share both triumphs 和 struggles.
The two-week mini-term in March is a central feature of LA’s educational program, breaking students out of their normal routines 和 encouraging them to 开放 their minds, 的身体, 和 hearts to new experiences.
With the aim of meeting students where they are 和 setting them up for success, LA offers various 项目 to help students work toward their full potential, both as scholars 和 as human beings. 学生s will learn to advocate for themselves, 和 to ask for help when they need it.
